What’s up this week?
Sometimes when we travel, we take quick, weekend trips. It becomes important when you have limited time to know all the best, most recommended spots in a location. In today’s episode, we discuss Lido Key in a weekend.

Product and Locations Mentions
We camped at Sun Outdoor. This is a resort camping by every definition. Complete with a health club, indoor lap pool, outdoor heated pool with mega slide and splash pad, pool bar, pickleball, shuffleboard, lawn bowling, gaga ball, walking trails, golf cart rentals, and regular entertainment, this place has it all. You can’t possibly get board. But there is plenty of nature and relaxation as well.
Nearby you can visit the John Ringling Museum. Noted as the official state art museum of Florida, located in Sarasota, Florida. It was established in 1927 as the legacy of Mable Burton Ringling and John Ringling. Circus history is rooted here. To learn more, you can listen to Episode 18, Exploring Sarasota’s Circus History.
Visit the Ring of Fame; an iconic park established in 1987 that celebrates circus greats and Sarasota’s vibrant history. It is a ring that you can walk around. This is the circus equivalent to a Hollywood Star — along with a biographical plaque to accompany each wheel. The area is world-renowned for its shopping and dining as well. Be sure to take on a food and walking tour. Check out Key Tours to get started.
Make a day on one of the most beautiful beaches to be found in Florida. We visited Lido Key. You will find street parking and a few small lots, so be sure to get there early. The beach is made up of powdery white sand. Transport yourself to the Caribbean right here is Florida. With emerald green waters and miles and mile of gorgeous beach, you could certainly feel like you are somewhere else. There is a walk-up restaurant in a pavilion with really nice facilities including inside showers. They have all the beach rentals including umbrellas and chairs. You will also find the Lido Key Pool and pavilion with a heated swimming pool which is open 10am-4:45pm Tues – Sun. $4/day for adults. $2/day children.
Be sure to visit Marie Selby Botanical Garden. Here you will find 45 acres of bayfront sanctuaries connecting people with air plants of the world’s native nature and our regional history. Downtown Campus on Sarasota Bay is the only botanical garden in the world dedicated to the display and study of epiphytic orchids (Orchids that grow on tree surfaces, climbing upward toward the light over several years’ time), bromeliads, gesneriads (jes near eee ad) and ferns, and other tropical plants. There is a significant focus on botany, horticulture, education, historical preservation, and the environment. They also have special events and exhibitions as well as education programs.
