One of our absolute favorite places is located in St. Petersburg. The Salvatore Dali museum has an unparalleled collection of works by renowned artist Salvador Dalí, from iconic melting clocks to imaginative visual illusions and avant-garde symbols. Shop in the gift shop, play, wander and quench your curiosity for all that is Salvador Dalí and beyond. It is a great place to escape the afternoon thunderstorm.

The Ringling is one of the most culturally rich museums in the state, and the campus grounds are actually home to three museums in one: the Art Museum, the Circus Museum, and Ca’ d’Zan. Located in Sarasota, this is a great way to spend the day when there is a chance of rain. You can participate in a family program, attend a talk or lecture, visit the museum of art, or see the circus museum. A good rainy day activity near The Ringling is the Ca’ d’Zan. It is the last of the gilded mansions. It was modeled on the Venetian palazzos of Venice, Italy, the magnificent Ca’ d’Zan was John Ringling’s love letter to his beloved wife Mable.

Science Centers

Orlando Science Center have plenty of things to occupy littles. There are science centers all over Florida like Cox Science Center in West Palm Beach, The Marine Science Center in Ponce Inlet, IMAG History and Science in Ft. Myers, Emerald Coast Science Center in Ft. Walton Beach, Museum of Science and Industry in Tampa, and so many more.

The Brevard Museum of History & Natural Science exhibits on Windover, Brevard’s oldest Archaeological Dig site, Taylor collection, Pioneer Women, Florida Crackers, Canaveral Lighthouse, Reference & Research Library, Citrus Industry, a Butterfly Garden, 22 acre nature reserve with trails and the Children’s Imagination Station, just to name a few.

Florida Museum of Natural History – Gainesville is the perfect place for fossil lovers. With events and exhibits and a butterfly garden, you are sure to have a fantastic day on indoor activities. Young kids and older will enjoy this place.

 St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum Is a fun way to experience some pirate history. Port Royal in the 1600s, where cannon fire rings in your ears and the Golden Age of Piracy is alive and booming in this interactive and immersive pirate museum in Florida. View artifacts from sunken wrecks, stand at the captain’s wheel aboard your sturdy vessel, learn to tie sailors’ knots, and even view some props from Hollywood’s most famous pirate movies.

 Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science is a place to explore the skies and seas. The museum’s planetarium is state-of-the-art, with a surround sound system for immersion and a 16-million-color 8K projected display. Above the planetarium is the lowest of the aquarium’s three levels, where you can learn about the Gulf Stream and its impact on environments all over the world. Each successive level holds different exhibits dealing with flight, natural science, and hands-on exhibits in physics and biology. These exhibits sit alongside the subsequent levels of the aquarium,

Indoor Adventure Parks 

 Elev8, in Central Florida is top on the list for me. This is not your average indoor playground. This is an indoor adventure park. Complete with an indoor go-kart track, indoor arcades complete with virtual reality, a bowling alley, laser tag, mini golf, axe throwing, a ropes course, and a climbing wall, there is no better way to entertain everyone in your group than this. The arcade games are state-of-the-art. They have an incredible restaurant on site making it the perfect place for the whole family and an all-day event. With 125,000 square feet, you won’t miss the sunny days of Florida.

Xtreme Action Park located in Ft Lauderdale has all kinds of indoor racing for go-karts. Can’t get enough of escape games? With several escape rooms to choose from, this is the perfect way to beat the rainy day blues. Can you escape? Hope on some wheels and roller skate. Duke it out in the Omni Arena, play laser tag, adventure on the ropes course, play a game of bowling. And the best part of this place is the newest 7D immersive attraction is only found only here!  This is not your typical 3D movie. Each player will experience an interactive, unique experience including full motion seats, turbine wind blasts, realistic surround sound, and a video game component that makes it interactive. The entire family will love this place without a doubt. It is a great option with plenty of indoor activities.

IFly Indoor Skydiving is something you will never forget. Want to get the thrill of skydiving without the risk? This is your place. Using vertical wind tunnels, you will most certainly get the adrenaline rush.

Ripley’s believe it or not St. Augustine shrunken heads, a wax replica of the world’s tallest man, the world’s smallest production car, take a picture with the lizard man or dare to walk through the vortex tunnel.

Top Golf where you can eat, drink, and hit golf balls flying through the air. This is the perfect place to spend an afternoon. They even have instructors for lessons.

Seminole Hard Rock Casino Tampa glitzy lights of the slot machines and buzzing casino-floor ambiance, where you’re always just one bet away from beating the odds. on-site restaurants, from sushi to burgers, in addition to several lounges that offer live entertainment throughout the week.

Medieval Times Step back to another time and watch the knights joust and sword fight their way to victory.

Sleuths Can you solve the mystery of who dunnit? This interactive dinner show will keep you guessing. All improvisational, you might find yourself part of the show.

Capones All things gangster here. With singing and dancing, you will be thoroughly entertained by this incredible show.

Miami Improv Get your laugh on with a comedy improv show. There are lots to choose from at this theater and you are surely in for a night of laughs.


The dinner detective Solve a hilarious mystery while you feast on a fantastic dinner. Just beware! The culprit is hiding in plain sight somewhere in the room, and you may find yourself as a Prime Suspect before you know it!

Alhambra MUSICALS (Upcoming Thru NOV 6 Ghost the musical (like the movie) followed by White Christmas

Idrive has tons of options for indoor activities and all of them are different.


Museum of Illusions has over 50 exhibits of mind-bending illusions that will turn your mind upside down.

Wonderworks an Idrive icon, this upside-down house is full of magic and mystery. An amusement park for the mind with 28,000 square feet of “edu-tainment”. The attraction combines education and entertainment with more than 100 hands-on exhibits that challenge the mind and spark the imagination.

Madame Tussauds Orlando This is a unique place to spend an afternoon. The greatest wax museum filled with scenes from sports,T.V., and movie stars as well as superheroes.
